They faced rejections and had to work hard to be at the position where they are today. For earning their bread and butter, they did lots of odd jobs. Do you know what the following stars did for a living before joining Bollywood?


Akshay Kumar is a black belt in Taekwondo. He flew to Bangkok to learn Martial Arts. The Khiladi of Bollywood served as a chef and waiter in a restaurant of Bangkok. When he returned back to India, he became a Martial Arts teacher. But Akshay’s destiny was tied to the Bollywood, and he was meant to rule the hearts of ladies. After getting a chance for modelling, he never looked back and became one of the biggest superstars of the country.



Nawazuddin Siddiqui has struggled a lot before joining Bollywood. He belonged to a farmer’s family in Uttar Pradesh. He worked as a chemist there, but then shifted to Delhi. He got himself enrolled in Theater while working as a watchman to manage the expenses. Unimaginable, right? In fact, the path to the mainstream cinema has not been easy for Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He played various small roles in the movie before finally getting the chance to showcase his talent in Gangs of Wasseypur and Talaash.



Arshad Warsi worked as a cosmetic salesman. He would go from door to door in order to sell the products. He even worked in a photo lab. But he was meant to become circuit of Bollywood. He joined the dance group of Akbar Sami due to his interest in dancing. He became a dancer and choreographer while assisting for various movies. Arshad Warsi’s role in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. has become memorable, but isn’t it amazing to know how much he struggled before finally becoming a known face in Bollywood?



Boman Irani was helping his mother in running an old bakery shop before he joined Bollywood. He even worked as a room service attendant as well as a waiter in infamous Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai. He finally started taking lessons in photography due to his keen interest in it. But his luck finally worked when he got Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.



Amitabh Bachchan is the Shehnshah of Bollywood. Many people envy him for his lavish lifestyle, majestic house and humble nature. But did you know that this superstar of Bollywood worked as an executive for a shipping firm? We love his strong voice. He gets millions of rupees just to lend his voice. But he was rejected by All India Radio, as his voice was deemed unsuitable for it.
