Let’s start with a movie that you will invariably find being aired in one of the channels every Sunday of the month.Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was Karan Johar’s directorial debut and it bought about a change in the style of Hindi cinema.Everyone just enjoyed watching the most popular on screen couple- Kajoj and Shahrukh in the movie.The movie is a balance of drama,light hearted comedy and of course romance,making it such an entertaining watch even till today.
2.Hum Aapke Hai Kaun
Hum Aapke Hai kaun is a movie full of weddings,music,fun and frolic until a tragedy strikes the two families and all of a sudden the movie becomes void of all the fun elements but the love and affection shared by the families remains the same throughout the movie.Making this movie a delight was Madhuri Dikhshit’s gorgeous dance moves and of course everyone’s favourite character from the movie – Tuffy!
3.Andaz Apna Apna
Andaz Apna Apna is a classic comedy movie which did not do too well at the box office back when it was realized in 1994 but since then has been considered a milestone in Indian cinema and has been popular among the people even today.The duo of Aamir and Salman and their comedy was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and the popularity of the film even till date can be seen in the number of merchandise in the market adorning popular dialogues from the movie like –‘Teja mai hu.Mark idhar hai’.
4.Hum Ssaath Saath Hai
How can anyone ever forget this movie which was filled with music,dance and glorification of joint families.There was always some or the other family function happening in the movie thus leading to all the characters coming together under one roof and having a great time dancing,singing songs, enacting plays and watching videos of their childhood days.The movie gets a little intense when the family drama part comes in but that also was equally entertaining for the audience as it lead to a happy ending eventually.This movie at some point or the other made every Indian want to live in a joint extended family and go on road trips in a huge bus.
5.Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejaenge
Last but not the least, our Nations favourite movie Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge which was such a blockbuster that even today,20 years past its release date it’s still running in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir movie theatre.The on-screen couple Raj and Simran,their love story and their romance became every Indian’s fantasy and something they idolized.The popularity of the film can be seen till date not only by the fact that it is still running in Maratha Mandir but also that every male in the country by the name of Raj will add the dialogue-‘Naam to suna hi hoga’ after he introduces himself.
