There are some of the top rated movies in Bollywood that we bet you did not know were copied. These hit films sometimes have copied a few parts and at times copied the whole theme from other movies.The examples of such movies released in the 80sare:

  1. Shaukeen:

This movie “Shaukeen” which was released in the year 1981was copied from “Boys’ Night Out.” The storyline was fully copied by the director of the Hindi movie. The original movie was based on the theme which was anadult comedy and so the copied one. The director indeed showed his smartness by copying the film and presented it with much attractiveness towards the Indian audience.


  1. Satte Pe Satta:

The famous comedy movie released in the year 1982, “Satte Pe Satta” was one of those copied movies which were a hit at that time. The prominent actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini were the leading cast in the movie. This movie which was nicely copied from the Hollywood movie “Seven Brides for Seven Sisters” that starred Howard Keel. All liked the movie, and the audience were absolutely unknown of the fact that the storyline and theme were copied.

  1. Ek Ruka Hua Faisla:

This movie of 1986 was purely copied from the film “12 Angry Men”. The theme and the plot of most of the film, “Ek Ruka Hua Faisla” were inspired by the Hollywood movie but was unable to impress the audience and hence the copied portion was of no help to the director who failed with the release of the Hindi movie.

  1. Khoon Bhari Maang

The film “Khoon Bhari Maang” which was released in 1988was copied from the English movie“Return to Eden.” The movie was directed as well as produced by Rakesh Roshan which was based on the plot of a man who convinced a widow to marry him and later tried to kill her for the property. But it all turned in vain when the woman came back to take revenge.

  1. Tezaab:

This movie Tezaab which then became a critically acclaimed film was copied from the Hollywood movie“Streets of Fire”. The Hindi movie was released in 1988. It was a romantic action film which starred the dynamic actress Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor. In the movie, the protagonist who was a college student turned out to be a criminal and fought with the villains to rescue his ladylove.
