Dear Zindagi is making us impatient with each take. This new marketing strategy is certainly working on us and keeping us hooked. The brightness, lightness and sheer positivity with which the movie is picturized gives us a breath of fresh air amidst the clutter of Bollywood. If Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt’s adorableness wasn’t enough to make you excited, they have launched the third take of the movie. It is the second last take, and it’s as intriguing as the previous ones. It’s all about love, relationships and breakups.
The short teaser starts with Alia Bhatt and Shahrukh Khan humming a song and asking questions to each other. The scene sets the tone of the entire teaser, as it makes us realize how simple and sweet the movie is going to be. They have kept it raw without any kind of auto-tune or background singers. And Shahrukh Khan is looking as breath-taking as always. Alia Bhatt doesn’t shy away from exposing her cute side throughout the video. It’s like certain roles are made for the actors, and they both fit their respective roles like two puzzle pieces.
The scene transitions and it seems like we have been taken into Alia Bhatt’s past where she met Kunal Kapoor. She seemed to be enjoying her life and sharing great chemistry with him. And Kunal Kapoor’s man bun, tall height and extremely good looks have swept Alia off her feet. But as ‘breakup’ is mentioned in the title of the video, we are assuming that perhaps, Kunal Kapoor has broken Alia Bhatt’s heart in the movie. At least, that’s what the story suggests. As per the information received from the sources, Alia Bhatt is going to have 3 to 4 love interests in the movie (And no, Shahrukh Khan is not among her love interests.)
In the very next scene, she is seen cursing the couples around her. So, it establishes the fact that something must have happened to make her so bitter towards relationships and love in general. And it could be the reason that she is getting life coaching or psychological help from Jahangir Khan aka Jug. It seems like the movie is going to be a really inspiring story as the mentor and his student would share a very uplifting and motivating bond. Something totally different from the usual love stories we are offered by Bollywood.
The take finally ends with Alia Bhatt questioning to Shahrukh Khan, “Why are these romantic couples so irritating?” The question leaves Shahrukh Khan into a befuddled state, as he just shrugs his shoulder. We can’t help but laugh at Shahrukh Khan’s genuine reaction. That’s the best thing about Dear Zindagi. It has kept each and every role very genuine without the need to overly dramatize the actors and showing them larger-than-life.
We are excitedly waiting for the last take, and the movie is getting released on November 25, 2016. Till then, enjoy the take.
