When Bollywood movies gave us travel goals!

Bollywood always loves to shoot in exotic locations. Sometimes they choose to shoot in foreign locations and sometimes they decide to explore the incredible beauty of India.Bollywood for quite sometime now has been setting travel goals for everyone by showing the beauty of India in its movies. There are some locations where we want to go with our friends just like in the movie and some places where we want to get married at. And then there are some places we want to go for the mere beauty and charm of the place.

Lets have a look at some of these destinations of India and the movies that have popularized them


Lets start with a movie that has been setting travel goals since 2001. Everyone who has seen the movie or in fact even the people who haven’t seen the entire movie are familiar with the scene in the movie where the three friends are sitting and having a good time at the Aguada fort. Ever since this movie came out, Goa and Aguada fort has been on the travel list of most youths of the country. It’s a place everyone wants to go to with his or her friends and have their very own ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ moment.



Located at a height of 3979 meters, Rohtang pass did not fail to mesmerize anyone who watched the movie Jab We Met. Rohtang pass, located just 51 kms away from Manali, is breathtakingly beautiful. The movie in one of its song sequence shows Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor driving through the pass with snow covered mountains on both the sides. Imtiaz Ali, we can never thank you enough for introducing us to this beautiful place in our very own country.

This movie was a lot about beautiful destinations, two of them being Udaipur and Manali. Manali was shown in a different light in this movie. Instead of just showing the hill station, director Ayan Mukherji decided to take it a step further and show the snow-laden mountains where people trek.He did not just stop at that. The movie also showed a destination wedding in the city of lakes- Udaipur.  We got to see a lot of Udaipur in the movie through Ranbeer and Deepika’s day trip around the city.

No one who has seen Chennai express can get the scene out of their heads where the train passes through a bridge and there is a huge waterfall in the background. After the movie was released, people were desperate to know what location and waterfall was it. A lot of people were talking and googling about it when we found that the waterfall in the movie was Dhudhsagar waterfalls, one of India’s tallest waterfalls. The beauty of the falls has made us all want to once take the same train journey and witness the beauty of these falls firsthand.



The way Kahaani has showed Kolkata is truly beautiful. It did not only show to the audience the city and its architecture but also its festivals and how people celebrate it. It has closely shown the culture of Kolkata thus creating a strong bond between the audience and the city. Which, in turn raised a strong desire amongst the audience to visit the city and experience the grandeur of the celebration of the Durga Puja.
