Bollywood has seen some great performances in the year 2016. Surprisingly, many of the movies made us fall in love with the supporting actors more than the lead actors. It’s great that a few movies have given enough screen time to these supporting actors to show their acting prowess. They indeed manages to sweep us off our feet. Here is a list of the best supporting roles of the year 2016.
1. Jim Sarbh as Khalil – Neerja
The scary and intimidating terrorist, Khalil, played by Jim Sarbh made goosebumps appear on our body. We were at the edge of our seats, as the character paced around. He managed to bring the feeling of being hijacked by terrorists alive among the viewers. He was immensely realistic and convincing in the role given to him.
2. Yashaswini Dayama as Jackie – Dear Zindagi
Dear Zindagi ntroduced us to Alia Bhatt’s close friend, Jackie. The role is played by Yashaswini. She made us smile and laugh through the movie due to her crazy attitude and cute dialogue delivery. We gotta agree that after watching the movie, we all wanted a fun friend like Jackie.
3. Aishwarya Rai as Saba – Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Aishwarya Rai set the silver screen on fire with her role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Even though she didn’t have enough screen time, but we just couldn’t take our eyes off her. Aishwarya Rai personified beauty in the movie.
4. Kirti Kulhari as Falak – Pink
Pink was one of the most hard-hitting movies of the year 2016. Kirti Kulhari’s role of Falak was well constructed and she did full justice to the role. She is one of the emerging talents in Bollywood, and we feel like she should be given more and more roles in the upcoming Bollywood movies.
5. Rishi Kapoor as Amarjeet Kapoor – Kapoor and Sons
Rishi Kapoor still has the spark inside him that’s required to play different roles. He was just mind-blowing in the movie, Kapoor and Sons. We all can agree with the fact that Rishi Kapoor can just make us all smile through his acting gig.
6. Manav Vij as Jujhar Singh – Udta Punjab
Manav Vij played the role of the corrupted Police officer in the movie, Udta Punjab. We just fell in love with his acting skills, as he played the role of the evil man in the movie. We need more realistic actors like him in the film industry.
7. Shabana Azmi as Rama Bhanot – Neerja
Shabana Azmi made us bawl our eyes out in the movie, Neerja. In the end of the movie, she just moved us through her dialogue delivery. The constant fear and anxiety as shown by Shabana Azmi in the movie twisted our heart with utmost brutality. We cannot imagine any other actress pulling off this role as nicely as Shabana Azmi Did.
