Best Movies Based on the Dreaded Friendzone

Our favourite stars can get friendzoned, too!

Bollywood has always revolved around the love story of a girl and a boy. But the path to love has never been easy. And that’s where the dreaded friendzone comes into play. There have been several movies in which one person or the other has gotten friendzoned. At times, they manage to step out of this zone, while other times, they have to accept the heartbreak and move on. Here are the best movies based on the frightening friendzone.

1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

If there is one person who is infamous for getting friendzoned, it’s none other than Kajol’s character, Anjali, in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. It was a heart-breaking moment for each one of us when Anjali was leaving Rahul. At that point, we could only think how stupid Rahul was to let someone as amazing as Anjali go. But our lady managed to climb out of the friendzone, albeit it took her 8 years and lots of distance. But the movie will still remain a forever favourite for many of the SRK’s fans.

2. Dil Toh Pagal Hai

Another movie in which Shahrukh Khan friendzoned a girl is Dil Toh Pagal Hai. He friendzoned Nisha (played by Karishma Kapoor) and went for Pooja (played by Madhuri Dixit). We really don’t know why Shahrukh Khan couldn’t just accept Nisha, as she had was perfect for him. We are not saying that Pooja was any less. But it seemed like Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit ended up together just because they were the main leads and that’s how it was supposed to be. And funnily, Pooja also friendzoned her childhood friend, Ajay (played by Akshay Kumar). Ajay was the right guy, and yet, Pooja was not satisfied with what she had!

3. Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa

Shahrukh Khan’s personal favourite movie, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, showed us that even SRK got friendzoned! He tried hard to impress the girl he loved, but nothing proved to be fruitful, as eventually, Deepak Tijori took the girl away. But you are gonna feel for that lovelorn SRK throughout the movie. It’s one of those rare movies in which Shahrukh Khan’s charm didn’t work on the girl, and has to let her go. The movie is one of the simplest and most entertaining movies of Bollywood. A perfect lunch-time movie!

4. Cocktail

How could someone friendzone Deepika Padukone? That was the first question that popped in our mind after watching cocktail. Throughout the movie, Saif Ali Khan flirts with her and leads her on, but when it comes to marriage, he goes for Diana Penty! Maybe it’s all about compatibility, but the movie showed sheer hypocrisy of Saif Ali Khan’s character.

5. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Touted as the biggest friendzone movie, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil showed Ranbir Kapoor getting friendzoned. Anushka Sharma was adamant to keep him in the friendzone while neglecting the fact that he had done a lot for her. In such cases, gather your feelings and just move away from that person’s life who does not respect your feelings.
