Pink, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu showed a massive growth in numbers on Sunday largely owing to mouth publicity. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Pink is a gritty story about three young woman who are trapped in a series of unfortunate events.
And all the praise and word of mouth has helped its box office numbers too. Pink has so far collected INR 21.51 crores in the domestic Indianmarket. The film is expected to do well in the coming days too since there is no other known release this coming Friday.
The movie has managed an overall growth of 120.83% through Friday to Sunday and has managed to stayed strong on Monday too. Popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh provided box office numbers on Twitter for domestic Indian market:
Fri: 4.32 cr
Sat: 7.65 cr
Sun: 9.54 cr
Mon: 3.78 cr
Total: ₹ 25.29 cr
Produced by ace director, Shoojit Sircar the film has managed to garner well deserved appreciation from the audiences. The emotional producer said:
“I am thankful to everyone who has liked the film. We wanted people to see the film before and then talk to them so it would be more interesting to talk about it and because it’s a thriller and we couldn’t talk about it before.
“I cannot imagine the kind of reaction that we have got. One thing I would like to request everyone is that please don’t ask about the box office collection of this film,” Sircar said in an interview to IANS.
